The central location is the main thing this place has going for it. We could hear city noise, but it didn't bother us. Our room was larger than at other hotels, though the bathroom was tiny. I'm 5'6" and my knees hit the wall when I sat on the toilet. The bed felt like a wooden box, and one side of the pillows seemed to have little cut-up bits of straws in it while the other side was flat. The staff were okay, but not very helpful. Often they weren't at the desk, and we had to call for someone from the back. For us, the location wasn't worth giving up comfort. Next time I'd pay a bit more for a comfortable central hotel so we can sleep better and enjoy our days.

My wife and I regret staying here. The location is prime and the staff were polite, but the rooms were disgusting. There was mold in the restrooms and AC vents, and dust along the sides of the beds. The walls still had shadows where frames used to hang. It felt like the owners had given up on the place and were just trying to squeeze out every penny. They should be ashamed. This was the worst hotel either of us has ever stayed in.

The hotel is old and run down, and I don't understand how it's rated three stars. The rooms are decent in size, but the bathroom is smaller than an airplane bathroom. With the toilet positioned so strangely, you can't even sit on it properly. The Wi-Fi didn't work. When I asked, they said they had known about the problem for a while, and it still wasn't fixed during our three-day stay. Our room had no cell service either, so we couldn't get online, call, or text. We also had mosquitoes in the room. Maybe that had something to do with how much street noise came through. It sounded like the windows were open, though they were shut and faced a wall. Loud cars, ambulances, and the crosswalk sounds went on through the night, making a good night's sleep impossible. If I visit Kyoto again, I'd choose somewhere farther from the main street, even if it costs more.

The sink couldn't be adjusted, and only hot water came out. There was also a random air purifier in the room, which raised questions. The bed was awful, with a very hard spring mattress that seemed decades old. I couldn't sleep for even 30 minutes before my throat and nose started closing up. The air quality felt wrong too. When I raised these problems, the staff member was very unfriendly, and I'm not even sure he'll tell management. This was the worst hotel experience I've ever had. Stay clear.

The room was really dirty, and the Wi-Fi was either unavailable or very weak. The service was awful. Don't come here.
