The only thing I missed was a heated toilet seat in my room 😫. Otherwise, it had fun lighting, plenty of outlets, and the biggest room I’ve had in this price range across the hotels I’ve stayed at in Japan. There are lots of shrines and temples within an hour’s walk, and the hotel is close to pretty much everything around there. 9.5/10 😃!

We had a great-sized, clean room for two, and the hotel looked almost brand new. The road noise came through, though, so the sound insulation could be better. Housekeeping is available daily if you ask reception and leave your key. You can request a full clean or just fresh towels. Kyoto Station is about a ten-minute walk away, and the location is decent. A good option for a short stay if you don’t want to spend a fortune. Bear in mind that Kyoto accommodations have charged a stay fee since 2018.

The staff were really helpful. Shops nearby tend to close early, as seems to be the way in Kyoto, though a Lawson about five minutes away is open around the clock. The closest station for Fushimi Inari Temple is roughly a 15-20 minute walk, and getting to and from it felt scary. The room itself was quite spacious, but the bathroom was a little small. There are a few places around for food and drinks.

The room was fully furnished and came with free WiFi. Staff were accommodating and could speak English, and there’s a restaurant on the ground floor. There’s no hotel parking or swimming pool. The hotel sits in a relatively quiet residential area, about two kilometers from Kyoto Station. You can walk there through the side streets, or head to the station for transport connections. A good place to stay in Kyoto 👍

We stayed five nights in a quiet area, with a Lawson and about three restaurants visible from the hotel. Kyoto Station is around a ten-minute walk away, and our room was quite spacious. Breakfast depended on how many guests were eating. With a larger crowd, it was buffet style, mostly Japanese dishes, with yogurt, fruit, some cereal, and brewed coffee, but I don’t think there was bread. When only a few people were having breakfast, they brought a tray of Japanese-style dishes, without coffee. The buffet selection was the same each day.
