Kyoto Kamogawa Room

The location is what caught my eye, with a 7-11 about a three-minute walk down the road and two more Family marts a little farther along. The place itself is beautiful. We had four adults, so it felt a bit snug, but I think it'd be perfect for a small family in the double-bed rooms. The KAMOGAWA property is the one we stayed at, which matters because the chain has two locations in Kyoto. It was an easy ten-minute walk from Kyoto Station, and we loved our stay. Our room felt brand new, spacious, and well thought out. The washer-dryer was right in the room, and detergent was provided. The double sink vanity was handy, the shower room had a tub, and there was a clever little sink over the toilet. Instead of a key, we used a numeric door code. Coffee drinkers can ask the front desk for more Nespresso OL pods. Luggage shipping was easy, too. They leave instructions in the room so you can get bags ready the night before, then attach the shipping tag at checkout. They also offer instant kimono rental, a fun way to try wearing one without spending time on a full fitting. A 7-Eleven is practically next door for snacks and drinks. We'd absolutely stay again.

We stayed 4d3n and really enjoyed it. The room was clean, comfortable, and roomy enough for our active one-year-old to waddle around. It came with lots of useful things, including a washing machine, Dyson dryer, air conditioning, fridge, towels, kitchen tools, microwave, and TV. The staff were helpful and informative. Kyoto main station was a walkable 7-10 minutes away. We'd definitely stay here again.

The rooms are beautiful and the service was excellent, but the street noise was really loud. The bathroom fan was unpleasant too. We only stayed one night as a stopover, encouraged by the great reviews, and it ended up being too noisy for the price.
