Of the six hotels I stayed at in Japan, this one was my favorite. The rooms are large and cozy, in a quiet neighborhood that's still not too far from the city. The staff were amazing and helped us a lot. Her English was good, and she clearly cares about her customers. I'll definitely come back.

We paid about ¥50000 for three nights in a room that can accommodate up to three people, and I thought it was quite good. Kyoto University and a bus stop are each around five minutes away, while the metro takes about 5-7 minutes to reach. Ginkaku-ji is 2 km away. There are also two 7-11's and two pharmacies nearby.

We felt right at home here. The rooms were clean, spacious, cozy, and had AC, and the host was very friendly. There are several transport options close by, plus the Philosopher's Path and plenty of restaurants and shops within walking distance.

I really enjoyed our time here and would recommend the inn to anyone visiting Kyoto. It's clean and well run, with plenty of restaurants and convenience stores close by, and it's near the university but still within walking distance of most sights we wanted to see. Staff English was fine, and the owner/manager and front desk team were a huge help when we needed to send luggage to another city and mail a box back to the U.S. They gave us tips and helped us use the local post office. Breakfast isn't included, but nearby convenience stores have lots of things you can prepare in your room. There's a McDonald's close too.

I had a great stay, and found the hotel extremely welcoming to foreign visitors. The staff spoke English and were helpful with everything. They replied right away whenever I messaged with a question. The location is close to many tourist spots, well connected by public transport, and surrounded by restaurants, including places serving foreign cuisines.
