MIMARU Kyoto Shijo West (Formerly Known as MIMARU Kyoto Nishinotoin Takatsuji)

There’s a bus stop right outside that goes to Kyoto station, which was handy. The hotel itself isn’t especially close to many restaurants or attractions. My room was spacious, clean, and had a small kitchen and lounge. The staff at the front desk were helpful, and the coin laundry worked well without taking too long. I liked the blackout shades, the useful AC and heat controls, and having different types of pillows in the room. I was very comfortable at Mimaru Kyoto Nishinotoin.

My daughter had left her phone at a hotel we’d stayed at earlier in another part of the country. The Mimaru team arranged with that hotel to courier it to us, with very little fuss. Their staff were amazingly friendly, polite, and attentive, and I can’t praise their professionalism enough. They also pointed out local sights and made restaurant reservations for us. Our room was spacious and the facilities were excellent. The hotel is a short walk from a local train station and reasonably close to Kyoto’s main shopping streets. I’d wholeheartedly recommend the Apartment Hotel Mimaru as a good base near the city center for exploring Kyoto and the surrounding area.

We spent four days and three nights at Mimaru Hotel in Kyoto, and the staff made our family feel especially welcome. They were kind, helpful, and made us feel at home throughout the stay. The hotel was clean, spacious, and well equipped, which made the trip comfortable and convenient. Everything went smoothly, and I really appreciated the thoughtful touches. I’d recommend staying here in Kyoto and would love to return.

The staff were helpful when we needed an early taxi, and that all worked out well. There are a few restaurants nearby, including a nice little gyoza place just around the corner. The location is good. The kids liked the slightly quirky bunk setup. Our room was clean and spacious, though definitely a bit warm at night. We did prefer another chain we stayed at, but there wasn’t much between them.
