Mosaic Hostel Kyoto

Great hostel! The capsules are roomy and super comfortable, and the place is clean. There's a kitchen and lounge area, and the staff speak English. Breakfast is ¥500, and they hold events where guests make Japanese food and eat together. Their drinks are cheap compared with bars around there. Everything about this place is great!

The shared lounge made it easy to meet other travelers, and there’s happy hour every evening plus free dinner on Tuesdays 🔥. I found the sleeping pods private enough to unwind, and the showers were clean. Mosaic Hostel works well whether you’re traveling alone or with a group. The staff were great, and everyone I met was friendly and helpful.

Our room was clean and had everything we needed, though the thin mattresses took some getting used to. We booked a standard double with a shared bathroom and stayed three nights. Kyoto station was an easy ten-minute walk away. There aren’t many places to eat nearby, which was one downside. We had a great stay and would recommend it.

The lounge and social events were a nice part of this clean capsule hostel, and the staff were friendly. There’s late-night food and a good range of facilities, with mixed dorms and women-only dorms available. It’s about a 15-minute walk from the station. To get around Kyoto’s sights, you’ll probably want a bike or public transport.
