For our family of six, this house was comfortable, peaceful, and had everything we needed. The host was incredibly helpful with directions and suggestions. We loved exploring Gion, where hidden shops seemed to turn up around every corner and alley. The beds and pillows are firm, as we found throughout Japan. Walk down the alley and you’re right in the middle of everything, with taxis easy to catch. We’d stay here again when we return.

We were four friends and stayed for four days. The place was more than big enough for us, and the owner was so sweet. He made sure we were comfortable and asked us to contact him on line with any questions or concerns. Everything felt just right, and I’d absolutely recommend it to anyone thinking of visiting Kyoto. A huge thank you to Mr.Kazunori for having us. Wishing him all the best.

Hayata was the best host, so friendly and helpful. We visited nearly all the places in his valuable guide. Our family slept downstairs, where the exit sign light was a bit bright at night. Most people will sleep upstairs in the Tatami room, which would be perfect. Highly recommend.

We'd absolutely stay here again. The location is hard to beat, the beds were really comfy, and having two toilets plus a washer and dryer was so useful. The hosts were kind and communicated well, taking time to share recommendations that turned out spot on.
