Nohga Hotel Kiyomizu Kyoto

We stayed in the executive King Room, a large room with a lovely bathroom, a very comfortable huge bed, and a view of Yasaka shrine. The rooms felt brand new, and the daily cleaning was very good. The hotel sits far enough from the busy areas to feel like a quiet retreat, though Yasaka shrine and the pagoda are an easy walk away. A bus stop on the corner connects you to other places. The Rooftop was our favorite spot. We went every day before or after dinner for cocktails, and the food was great too. We picked the Wagyu steak frites and cheeseburger, and had Kyoto malt whisky as a nightcap. There’s also beautiful food at the bakery and restaurant. Service was excellent, and all the staff spoke perfect English and made overseas guests feel welcome. Thanks, Nohga team, for a lovely stay in Kyoto.

The hotel was spotless and thoughtfully laid out, with lots of amenities. I was glad they could lend me a hair straightener. After a full day of sightseeing, it was such a relaxing place to return to. The lobby cafe was wonderful and had great gluten-free baking. Loved our stay at the Nohga hotel in Kyoto and would highly recommend it.

The staff were so kind and helpful, the beds were comfortable, and the shower was BIG for Japan. The rooms had everything we could think of. It’s stylish, very clean, and feels luxurious for such an affordable price. We arrived without expectations and were surprised by how good the hotel was. A 10/10 stay, and I’d come back any day.

The rooftop bar was a lovely way to finish the evening, with tasty drinks and views toward Kiyomizu-Dera. In the morning, the on-site bakery and breakfast restaurant were great places to start the day. The hotel itself has a beautiful design and is well placed for walking to the Gion district and Kiyomizu-Dera Temple. The laundry dryer took almost an hour and a half to dry a full load, so that could be more convenient. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and the whole experience. Thanks to the staff who made it happen.
