Hotel Nagai

The facilities are definitely old, but the service and food are both excellent. Coming in from Route 17, you can drive through the building to reach a large parking lot. If approaching from the Himalayas direction, turning left before Kojima may be the better route.

The building has a somewhat dated feel, but it’s maintained well and still pleasant. The adjacent Chinese restaurant is Xueyuan, and there are other places to eat nearby too, as long as it isn’t late at night.

I was in the area for work and found the hotel calm. Meals come from the adjacent Yukiguni restaurant, and they bring the meal set to you. You can get refills of rice and miso.

We stayed one night with dinner and breakfast included. The hotel is older, but clean, and the meals were at the neighboring Yukiguni restaurant. Since it's Chinese food, the late-night snack included shrimp chili, mapo tofu, and spring rolls. We ordered a bottle of beer, though 900 yen felt a bit pricey. The Japanese-style breakfast came with rice that was a little firm, which worked perfectly with a raw egg. The chawanmushi was delicious, and hot coffee was included. We had a relaxing stay, and the view from the 5th floor was lovely, with Mount Haruna? lightly covered in snow.
