There were plenty of places to eat nearby, so meals weren't an issue. When I left, I crossed paths with the cleaning staff and they all greeted me kindly. The building is old. The young man at the front desk was unfriendly and seemed bothered by me. My room was dim, and I didn't feel comfortable walking barefoot on the carpet.

The front desk staff were polite and helpful, but the stay was a huge disappointment. I rarely post reviews, and I really don't like writing things like this, but I regret choosing this place so much that I had to say something. I trusted the reviews on Jalan, and it turned out terribly. The room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke throughout, and the floor felt sticky with nicotine. Walking barefoot, I could feel it sticking to my feet. The whole building had a weird, awful smell too, so relaxing was impossible. There was even a notice beside the bed asking guests to be careful not to smoke in bed. For anyone who dislikes smoking or expects the cleanliness of an ordinary hotel, I'd say avoid it. This was one of the least clean hotels I've stayed in, and the experience felt traumatic. Even thinking about it makes me feel sick. I never expected this from a hotel in Japan at this price.

It's an old place, but it just about meets the basics. The air conditioner makes so much noise that sleeping with it on is hard. Late at night the front desk staff aren't friendly. The listing says pillows and blankets can be requested, but they didn't seem to understand what I was asking for, and it took a long time for them to arrive. The service was awful.
