Park Inn Takasaki

There was a slight smoke smell in both the room and hallway. Still, the service, cleanliness, hot spring, and nearby okonomiyaki restaurant were all tops!

Having a convenience store next door is a lifesaver when I’m heading to work, and the parking is easy and cheap. I’ve stayed at hotels in Takasaki plenty of times for business, but this place is so well equipped despite being inexpensive. The room had a mattress right on the floor, which made it feel like my own place and was really comfortable. The spacious public bath was great too, especially being able to use a hair dryer and return the towels there. There are vending machines with alcohol and ice cream, plus free alcoholic welcome drinks at the restaurant. And the chicken nanban was incredibly delicious!

It’s a fair walk from the station, though the price is reasonable. The large public bath is nice, but some guests have rather poor manners. The room walls are thin enough that you can hear snoring. Aside from that, it’s clean, and a thousand times better than the moldy room I had in Ueda. I’ve heard breakfast is delicious, but I don’t eat much in the morning, so I can’t say for myself.

I usually book somewhere near the station, but prices there had almost doubled, so I gave this hotel a try for the first time. It was a comfortable walk from the station as long as the weather wasn’t too hot. The room was very spacious and the bed was really comfortable. I also like hotels with large public baths, and this one was clean, easy to use, and had just the right water temperature. The complimentary breakfast buffet was better than I expected, and I enjoyed it a lot. For the price, I was more than satisfied.
