Pulsesin in Kyoto - Vacation STAY 73510v

I spent five nights here in Kyoto with my kids and found it a good place to stay. It’s on a main road, but still quiet, and just a four-minute walk to the nearest bus stop. There aren’t halal restaurants nearby, unfortunately, but convenience stores helped me find food for sahoor during Ramadan. The hotel is old, with a classic feel, while the bathroom is clean and new and has a modern Japanese toilet. The bathtub was fine, and I liked the amenities bag. The aircon worked well, and I could adjust its temperature using the setting on the table. Arigatou gozaimasu!

We stayed for a week and found it clean and safe. The town was quiet, which made the price feel worthwhile even though it was a bit high. The subway takes a walk, so we used a taxi to the station at a very reasonable price. The staff were great, and so were the daily room amenities. We also enjoyed having breakfast there because it was convenient and good.

The location works well for Pulse Plaza Congress Place, but not much else. The rooms are old, the plugs aren’t within easy reach of the beds, and the air conditioning can’t be turned off, so the room gets very cold at night.

I booked a girls' night out plan with three beds because it looked like a good deal for four people, including my child. When we arrived, the lobby and the floors on each level were already pretty dirty, though I let that go for the stay. The room we were given clearly hadn’t been cleaned. There were stains on the floor, used towels still hanging up, things left in the fridge, and cups that hadn’t been cleared. I called the front desk, and they said they’d check. They tried to move us to another room, but it cost the same, with no discount. I thought the conditions would be different there, but that room was dirty too. This hotel is terrible. However wrong my own choices may have been, I never want to stay here again. I should’ve booked a good hotel earlier for the trip 😢
