There are washing machines and dryers, and the kitchen is fully equipped, which made the place work well for a family. The neighborhood is quiet, with a convenience store and train stations only a few minutes away. Our room was huge and could easily fit five people. Definitely worth it for a family.

The firm bed made it hard to get comfortable, and the cleanliness was disappointing. There was hair in the bathtub and stains on the couch. We also found the location inconvenient, with little nearby, so getting food or going out to explore took extra effort. It wasn’t an awful stay, but for the price it fell short of what we’d hoped for.

The room was spotless, roomy, and set up well for a family. We appreciated having a microwave, refrigerator, and washing machine, and the facilities felt modern and worked well. The price seemed fair for the space and amenities, though the location and strict check-in rules took away from the value. We stayed for two nights at the Randor Residential Hotel Kyoto Suites. It’s in a quiet neighborhood, but Kujo Station is about a 700m walk, and the main sights are spread out, so buses or taxis add time and cost. For a first visit to Kyoto, it wasn’t especially convenient. Staff we met were polite and professional, but arriving tired well before the official 3:00 PM check-in left a bad impression. We understood the room might not be ready and hoped to leave our bags and wait in the lobby. Instead, they wouldn’t allow us in even a minute early, and we had to wait until exactly 3:00. That felt rigid and unwelcoming, especially with a family. It felt more like a practical apartment than a welcoming hotel. If clean, spacious rooms with kitchenettes matter most and you’re fine with the location and inflexible check-in, it could suit you. Travelers looking for convenience and warm service, particularly families after a long journey, may find the rules a drawback.

We had a comfortable, enjoyable three-night stay, and the room worked well for our family of six. It was spacious by Japanese standards. There’s no daily cleaning, and the nearest train station is about a 10-minute walk, though it’s only one stop from Kyoto Station. That walk was a bit much with the kids. Plan around the 3:00 PM check-in: there are no staff from noon to 3:00 PM, so early arrivals have to wait. The bathroom sink is sensor-controlled, which took some getting used to. The shower has a lot of buttons and seems overcomplicated at first, but after a couple of days we figured it out and liked using it. I’m sharing this as straightforward feedback for future guests, not as a complaint about the hotel.
