Sakura Terrace The Atelier

The room was on the small side, but it had its own sink, which was great. The staff were friendly. I hadn't used a public bath before, and it was nice to have cubicle showers with glass doors as another option. Good spot, close to the station.

I've been here twice now and liked it enough to come back. The rooms are clean, small, and really affordable. I'm used to capsule hotels and hostels, so staying here feels like a treat, especially since it costs about the same as a pod in tokyo. I always make use of the tea and coffee in the guest lounge. The shared bathrooms are as advertised and don't bother me. In the women's bathroom, there were several shampoos and conditioners to choose from. I liked the ones I tried so much that I plan to buy them. I'll definitely stay here again on my next Kyoto trip.

The receptionists were okay, though some were nice. Women get a code to enter the shared bathroom, and laundry is free. The location is a little tucked away, about a 5-10 minute walk to a konbini and around 10 minutes from Kyoto station. I arrived at night and walked from Kyoto station. The streets were so empty they felt kind of spooky, lol.

It's reasonably priced, clean, and looks new. Kyoto Station is close enough to reach on foot. I didn't mind the shared bathrooms, especially since the room was spacious enough to open my suitcase fully. There are plenty of amenities, including washing machines you can use for free. The staff were friendly and helpful. If you check in or out outside service hours, you can use a kiosk, and luggage storage is available.
