Sakura

This is a pleasant sharehouse, with private rooms where you can have some space to yourself. Each floor has restrooms and sinks, and the roomy shared kitchen makes it easy to spend time with the other housemates. It has all the basic cooking gear, including a rice cooker. The house is well kept and very clean. Getting around is easy by public transport, and there’s a secure bike area out front. Lots of useful places are nearby too, including convenience stores, drugstores, supermarkets, a 100-Yen store, and restaurants. Booking and signing the contract were straightforward, and Gianfranco was friendly and quick to respond.

The house kitchen was well organized and fully equipped, the internet was fast and stable, and there were two washing machines and two dryers, so queues were rarely a problem. You could also leave your bike safely outside under a rain cover. The house itself was in pristine shape, and the kind, respectful, helpful staff made us feel at home. We met fantastic people and made friends during our stay. The location was hard to beat: quiet, convenient, and near lots of shops and services. It’s away from the city bustle but close enough to join in whenever you want. A true gem in Kyoto. We’ll be back.

I spent April there for a month and felt right at home. It’s cozy, pleasant to live in, and well maintained. While I was there, I even got to learn how to replace the paper screens on the shoji doors when they needed changing. The staff were amazing and helped me make sense of my administrative papers, even after I’d left. Thanks again, I’d go back without hesitation!

I was lucky to meet people from different countries and make friends in such a respectful, welcoming, multicultural place. The manager, Gianfranco, was always attentive and ready to help with anything I needed, which made a big difference. The house stayed clean, tidy, and well maintained, and it’s close to public transport, supermarkets, and many of Kyoto’s main tourist attractions. I had an incredible stay at Sakura House Kyoto and highly recommend it.
