The room was clean and roomy, and the futons were very comfortable. The owner was welcoming and friendly. It’s on a quiet street, yet the main places visitors want to see are all within walking distance.

I still remember my stay in December 2018 fondly, even though it’s been a while. The owners invited guests to a Christmas party in the main lobby, and it made us feel like family. The staff were very helpful and made our Kyoto visit that much better. It’s a budget-friendly place I’d happily recommend, and I plan to come back.

The staff were helpful, the water pressure was great, and the toilet was smart. We enjoyed the tatami mats and futon mattresses, too. It’s a traditional-feeling space, just as expected: comfortable and good value, though not luxury accommodation. We were really happy with our stay.

We found maps and guides for fun places around the area, and there were cute, affordable souvenirs for sale in the lobby. The rooms were very clean, and the tatami mats were comfortable. All the staff were incredibly kind and helpful. Fantastic stay, and I’d definitely come back to Kyoto and stay here again. Thank you, Seibido Inn!

The downstairs bar has a good selection of sake and local craft beer. The staff were friendly and spoke solid English. The rooms are minimalist, and this didn’t feel like a traditional Japanese experience, but there’s a fridge in the room and a private shower, which you don’t get at many similar places. It was comfortable enough.
