Great location, really close to Gion and the Pontocho restaurant district. It's a lovely traditional japanese house with modern appliances throughout. Tatami floors upstairs, wooden floors downstairs, and AC in every room. Recommended :)
Love this secluded machiya!
The bed and pillows upstairs were hard to sleep on. The bathroom was small, with a deep bathtub that you had to stand in to shower, making it awkward to get in and out. The house also felt crooked, and the floor sloped as I walked toward the toilet and bathroom. From the main road, the alley leading to the house was dark and unlit.
The bathroom was badly equipped, and so uncomfortable.
