The room was spacious and lovely, and the location made it easy to reach good restaurants and Kyoto sights. Having a washing machine was handy. We stopped getting breakfast after the second day because it arrived at 7:00, which was too early for us on vacation.

The view was beautiful, and the room was roomy. The mall is only a five-minute walk away, so the location worked perfectly. I'd definitely go back.

After five nights here, we're still in Japan but already miss our time at the hotel. We enjoyed it enough to book another stay for Nov 2026. We wanted to be by the Kamo River, which we remembered fondly from our Kyoto trip in 2023. After returning from Japan in Dec 2025, we searched and found the rates attractive, so we booked straight away. The room was bigger and more comfortable than we expected, with a beautiful river view. The reception team were friendly and efficient when we arrived. We were pleasantly surprised that breakfast was brought to our room at 8am each morning. We tried the hot breakfast with DIY sandwiches, the generous deli-style option, and especially liked the vegetarian set. After long days out shopping and exploring Kyoto, it was a lovely place to relax. The air conditioning worked perfectly, the bathroom was excellent, and housekeeping handled our request for alternate-day room cleaning well. Fresh towels came daily. Thanks for making us feel at home for those five nights. You felt like our home in Kyoto, and we're looking forward to coming back later this year.

The Kamo River view, cleanliness, and location were all excellent. With what seemed like relatively few rooms, it felt quite private, and there was plenty of space for four people. My mother and the children were all happy with the hotel. I stayed at The Gate Hotel on my last trip, but I personally liked this place better. I think we'll come back next time.
