The location meant taking two buses from the city center, so it wasn’t ideal for us. Still, we had a positive, enjoyable stay in this stylish, cozy home. It has a charming Japanese look, with tatami flooring and a small garden. Everything felt thoughtfully arranged, and what we needed was easy to find and use.

Shiki Sen was a wonderful experience for my friends and me during our three days in Kyoto. The spacious, ryokan-like accommodation had futons that were comfortable and warm. Getting there was the difficult part. The walk from the train station with our trolley bags was a challenge because of the distance and the poorly paved route, which took extra effort to manage with luggage. Thank you for the stay.
