The front desk staff were nice, and the price was good, so I’d stay again. The room itself felt far too cramped, even allowing for how small Japanese buildings can be. The shower setup was awkward in several ways: its head was in a corner rather than on the wall, and a shelf ran from outside into the shower and kept the curtain from closing. The curtain was too short, the tub’s oversized corners ate up a fifth of its space, and water got trapped because the drain was in the middle of the long side instead of at the back. Even the mirror extended into the shower.

There’s a long shopping street nearby with plenty of places to eat, while the hotel itself sits away from the busy center. It was peaceful and completely quiet at night. The beds were comfortable, the shower was nice, and there were lots of complimentary toiletries. You can heat food and do laundry on the first floor. Washing costs 300 yen, and drying is 100 yen for each half hour. A great choice for Kyoto.

We spent most of our time exploring the city and mainly needed somewhere to sleep, shower, and rest. We were three people and expected a small room. There are several bus stops nearby with routes to major attractions.

The room was small for three, but the service was good, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Getting around was easy by bus or metro. I also liked that checkout was at 11, so there was no need to rush in the morning.

We had a great time here. It was clean, comfortable, and convenient for getting around by bus or train. The room was a little small, like places elsewhere in Japan, but the hotel was very nice.
