We stayed here with friends a few weeks ago and absolutely loved the traditional machiya house. There’s a combini just around the corner, and buses and trains are nearby. The beds were comfortable too. We should have planned a longer Kyoto visit so we could stay here longer.

This was my third stay at one of your machiya, and my husband’s fourth. Tasokare exceeded my expectations again when we stayed there in June. The place was just as comfortable as it looked in the pictures. Restaurants and cafes are only steps away, and the subway is a few minutes’ walk. Looking forward to the next trip.

Our family had a lot of fun staying in a traditional Japanese home, all sleeping together. The wifi worked well, and there’s a famous ramen place right next door.

We stayed as a group of five and had a lovely time. Having a separate bathroom and shower room was handy, as were the two sinks downstairs and the one upstairs. The place was kept very clean, which made the stay comfortable. The neighborhood was quiet, with old Kyoto-style houses nearby that gave the area a nice atmosphere.

Although it’s right in the city center, the side streets around this traditional townhouse were peaceful. It was convenient too, and we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The place was clean, with useful kitchen utensils and underfloor heating. Staying here gave us lovely memories.
