There’s a subway stop right in front of the building, and several temples are nearby. We could also walk to the river. The amenities are modern and well provided, and the central location made it a great base for experiencing Kyoto.

The staff were really helpful, and the rooms were clean. Great spot, too.
A comfortable, pleasant stay that worked perfectly for our family.
The staff sorted out my booking mistake within a few hours, even though I was off by a day. Their English was limited, but Google Translate worked well and we communicated smoothly. We stayed two nights in April during cherry blossom season, two adults and two kids under eight, and the place suited our family perfectly. There was loads of space, and everything was spotless. The room had a proper kitchen, dining and lounge areas, two bathrooms, a large shower and a big bedroom. There was also a separate sitting room that could be set up as a traditional washitsu or ryokan-style space. The kids slept on the fold-out futons and found them surprisingly comfortable. Having a washing machine in the room was a big plus. It’s a quiet area, away from the busy streets, but the hotel is directly above a subway station, so getting into town was quick. The city centre is about a 20-30 minute walk, and plenty of cherry blossom spots and other attractions are 10-30 minutes away on foot. I was a little concerned at first because there weren’t many recent reviews, but we had everything we needed. I couldn’t find fault with our stay and would happily book again. Highly recommended for families visiting Kyoto.
I’ve been a Tokyu Vacation member for seven years and stay at this location five or six times a year. The room is always tidy and relaxing, with a kitchen stocked with dishes and pots and pans. I can cook, grab fast food, or eat at one of the good nearby restaurants. Convenience stores and small shopping streets are close, and the washing machine means I don’t need to pack many clothes. I like going out in the morning for a quiet walk. Even with inbound tourists around, there aren’t foreigners out in the area then, and sometimes I join morning services. Heian Shrine, Nanzen-ji Temple, Chion-in Temple, Yasaka Shrine, Gion and plenty of other places are within walking distance. I can go sightseeing, come back to rest, then head out again. Every visit to Kyoto seems to bring something new. In July I got to visit the Kyoto Sennindo Imperial Palace for free, though you need identification like a driver's license. I’m already looking forward to seeing what I’ll find on my next Tokyu Vacation booking.
