We fit four people easily in this fabulous self-contained unit. It was comfortable and handy to Gion, with its own kitchen and laundry.

A quiet street, one block from a major road, made it easy to get a cab and handle our luggage, while many must-see sights were also within walking distance. We stayed a few nights with our two young children, and the place was perfect for a young family needing breaks through the day. The location was incredible, close to sights, restaurants, shops, and easy to get around.

Tsukiowacho House was beautiful, clean, and safe, and we could walk to many attractions. Claire, the house supervisor, gave us clear directions and all the details we needed to find the place and get inside. She was also accommodating and let us check in early. A perfect Kyoto stay. We'd definitely return.

Claire made us feel welcome, and we loved staying in this lovely home. It’s close to Kyoto’s shrines and temples, and we’d happily come back.

We slept well on both the Western-style and Japanese beds. Temples, places to eat, and nightlife are all an easy walk away, and it’s simple to hail a cab on a nearby street. A beautiful home in a great spot. Highly recommend.
