Vessel Hotel Campana Kyoto Gojo Hotel

We spent two nights at Vessel Hotel Campana Kyoto with our family of four. The rooms are compact, as expected in Japan, but spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully arranged for a family. The staff were very friendly and quick to bring extra blankets and pillows when we asked, which made things even cozier. I filmed a walkthrough of the hotel and breakfast buffet for my trip vlog. The on-site onsen was our favorite part. It stays open past midnight and has a comfortable amount of space to soak in the hot bath, cold bath, or dry sauna. The hotel also supplied the usual amenities, neatly stored cables and chargers in a small bag in the desk drawer, and provided comfortable yukata-style pajamas, plus slippers for inside and outside the room. We found the room more spacious than some other Japanese hotels we’ve stayed in. It had a vertical shoe rack, open closet storage, two movable chairs, and a small side table, which made it much more functional. Housekeeping isn’t daily, but if you leave used towels and trash outside before 10am, they’ll replace the towels and empty the trash each morning. After two nights, you need to contact the front desk to request a room cleaning. We were able to arrange it that morning before 10am. There’s a 7/11 next door, a Fresco supermarket a few blocks away, and plenty of restaurants nearby. Many attractions were walkable, and we ended up walking to most of the places we wanted to see. The train station is only half a block away. Staff were friendly and welcoming, and I’d recommend the hotel for business or a vacation.

It’s a convenient spot, with the subway just a two-minute walk away, bus stops nearby for major attractions, and a 7-Eleven downstairs. The public bath is free for guests. Rooms are very clean and the facilities are well maintained. Towels are replaced daily, while housekeeping is available on request.

The location made it easy to walk to downtown Kyoto, including Nishiki Market, Zara, and the Disney Store. Kyoto Station is about a 15-minute walk away. The rooms were clean, and complimentary hot and cold drinks were available. I loved the hotel, especially the kind staff, who gave my family and me all the support we needed.
