The location is excellent and the room looks nice, but it stank. I’d requested a non-smoking room months ahead and was given a smoking room instead. The service manager didn’t seem interested in making things right. I would have been satisfied with at least a simple apology, but didn’t even get that, so the service gets my lowest score too. I don’t recommend this place at all. P.S. There was no working A/C, just a low-quality portable unit.

The hotel feels a bit worn, but it was still cosy and comfortable enough. The staff were really friendly and helpful, and the location made getting around easy, with major sights walkable and a subway station right there.

We had a great room with a huge bathtub and a living area. We arrived before check-in, but the hotel kept our luggage while we went exploring. There’s a little postcard and souvenir shop by the lobby, a Starbucks on the first floor, and a 7-11 just around the corner.

We drove and were able to park there. The car went away by elevator, which was a fun experience. The hotel is on a main street, so we could walk wherever we wanted, and the room was great. They also held our luggage before check-in, and there was a Starbucks for a quick breakfast.

At Shijo, use subway exit 4 and take the lift. Once you come out, turn right and the hotel is only a few feet away.
