Village Kiramachi

We had a truly wonderful stay at this ryokan. The setting was charming, peaceful, and immersive, making it easy to unwind and disconnect. The staff were exceptional throughout, always attentive, warm, and genuinely kind. Their thoughtfulness made us feel welcome for our entire stay. The atmosphere captured the beauty of Japanese hospitality, and the experience felt authentic and memorable. We highly recommend this ryokan and would be very happy to return.

This beautiful ryokan has traditional rooms and a very convenient location near central Kyoto. The owner was so sweet and kind, and our room was lovely. We had a private cedar tub and an outdoor shower on the deck, which felt amazing after a busy day exploring the city. We booked two rooms for two nights and found everything impeccably clean and beautifully decorated in a traditional style. The futons and comforters were comfortable, and we probably had the best night's sleep of our time in Japan.

Staying at this ryokan was one of the highlights of my trip to Japan. Everything was exceptionally clean and thoughtfully prepared. I felt as though I had stepped into another era, surrounded by traditional Japanese culture. It was a special, unforgettable experience. The staff and managers were incredibly polite and helpful, always going out of their way to make us feel welcome. If my travel schedule had not been so packed, I would gladly have stayed longer. This place alone is worth coming to Japan for. The futons were surprisingly comfortable, and the outdoor bath was a thoughtful, relaxing touch. We were very pleased with our stay. I loved everything about this place. It was exactly what I wanted: a quiet, traditional stay in Kyoto. The inner garden is well maintained, and the rooms are lovely, right down to the little details. The manager and staff were so kind and welcoming, which made the stay even better. I highly recommend it!
