For a budget stay, this was great value. It’s a quiet, clean hostel about a seven-minute walk from shijō station. I booked the Compact Twin Room, roughly 5m², so it’s tiny, but the bunk bed and electrical outlet were all I needed. Breakfast was included: usually a hotdog with an egg sandwich, a jam sandwich such as blueberry ham or orange, or three rice balls. Good value, honestly. The shared basement showers were clean and came with free shampoo, hair conditioner and soap. The shared bathrooms on each floor were pretty clean too. I’d definitely recommend it.

The library and lounge were the best part for our kids. We also loved the showers, the best we had on our trip, and the beds were comfortable. Facilities were very clean, and reception staff were friendly and helpful. The location is superb, right by Shijo Station, with plenty of amenities nearby and Kyoto’s popular spots close by. We’d highly recommend Webase as a base for Kyoto.

We slept really well in the two-bedroom room. The place was clean and in a quiet neighborhood, with many of the city’s highlights nearby. Breakfast was just okay. Smokers should know there’s no smoking area nearby.

The room and common area were clean and comfortable, and the shower was nice, clean, and had all the facilities and hot water. Staff were very helpful and let us check in early, which we really appreciated. The location is good, close to the subway. Highly recommended!

One of the best hostels I’ve stayed in. It has a great location, friendly staff, cute cat decorations, and clean, nice rooms.
