The location made getting around easy, with subway and bus connections nearby. A one- or two-day transport pass might be worth considering. It’s a nice hostel with modern facilities, and the room has a fridge, sink and TV. Shower rooms are on every floor. They offer toast with tea or coffee for breakfast, which is a handy touch. One thing that wasn’t convenient: each floor has either a male or a female toilet, which isn’t ideal if you need to go during the night.

Nice place, especially for young travellers. There’s bread and toast, coffee and tea for breakfast, and you can usually eat at any time of day. Keep an eye on the chocolate spread, though, it could be gone in one day! XD There’s no elevator, so you have to carry your own luggage up the stairs. Also, I wonder if the girls’ bathroom was cleaned every day. We saw the same ball of hair in the clothes basket for two nights.

We stayed for 3D2N, and I’d happily have stayed longer or come back. Kyoto is lovely already, but this hostel made the trip even more enjoyable. The beds were comfortable, the showers very clean, and breakfast was free. It’s also close to bus stops, so getting around Kyoto is easy.

We were surprised to find that free breakfast was included, with toast, coffee and tea. They also had a few useful extras: you could borrow an umbrella, and they provided pocket WiFi with a daily allowance during the stay. The staff speak perfect English, which made things much easier. The place is clean and very nice. It’s well located for Kyoto, not right in the centre but still close to everything. A great find!
