Hotel Heian

We appreciated how kind everyone was to our child. The hotel is also conveniently close to the municipal amusement park, Lunapark. Our family stayed at the beginning of the year. The air conditioning and other facilities were new, though the room only had a kettle, with no tea or other drinks. Wi-Fi is available, but you need to ask at the front desk before going to your room.

There aren't any convenience stores close by, so it's best to get what you need before checking in. Checkout is at 10:00, which leaves time to have lunch at Luna Park. Hotel Heian has an old, established feel, and both the exterior and facilities are well maintained. I found it very comfortable, with LAN access and a surprisingly roomy old-style refrigerator that could hold 2-3 2-liter water bottles, plus 4-5 500ml bottles in the door pocket. The air conditioning has been replaced with a standard household unit, and the old built-in units seem to have been removed. The toilet is in a unit bath, with an explanation of the Western-style toilet on the toilet paper holder, and a mirror sign reminding guests to check the evacuation route. It really had a nostalgic Showa-era atmosphere.

The building is old, but the service was really good from the moment I pulled into the parking lot. A staff member came out to guide me, assigned a seat based on my checkout time, asked when I wanted breakfast and had it ready accordingly, then served rice and miso soup after I sat down. I've been eating lots of granola at home lately, so I was especially impressed by the tasty Japanese breakfast, with rice, miso soup, natto, eggs, fish, and more.

For 5900 yen for a single room with breakfast, I thought the price was quite reasonable. The exterior looks a bit old-fashioned, but inside it was very clean and I had no problems. There aren't restaurants or convenience stores nearby, so I'd recommend eating dinner before checking in.
