Hotel Hiruzen Hills

The service was good.

The local Hiruzen vegetables were so fresh and crunchy, and the food was delicious. I especially liked the free-range chicken steak and local mushrooms, which were seasoned just right. Breakfast is a buffet with Japanese, Western and curry options, but I went for a salad full of tasty vegetables. They grind and brew the coffee after you order. The bakery opposite the hotel opens at 7am, and its bread was delicious too. Our room was spacious and clean. I’d definitely like to come back. Thank you.

On my six-day, five-night motorcycle trip, I was hoping for meals with plenty of vegetables. The tasty dishes made with locally grown highland vegetables here really hit the spot. Breakfast bread came from the bakery next door and was delicious as well. Next time, I’ll bring my family.

Dinner is usually the part of a trip I look forward to most, but this meal was a real letdown, especially since it was my first trip in a while. My family chose the steak course, and the meat was cold and tough, mostly tendon and hard to chew. My child said they couldn’t swallow it. The other buffet items were in smaller portions and weren’t being replenished, so I wondered what guests were expected to eat. I don’t understand how a hotel could serve a meal like that without thinking about it. After bathing, I wanted water. There was no dispenser, and the water in the hotel vending machine was sold out. When I asked staff, they directed me to an outdoor vending machine, so I had to go outside to buy some. There was a kettle in the room but no water in it. I wish they’d at least put cold water in the kettle during summer. The breakfast staff member was efficient about refilling food and was friendly. The bread was delicious, and I was hungry, so I really enjoyed it. I wish they’d put more effort into dinner and service.
