We loved the food and how kind the staff were. The Onsen Ryokan was comfortable, and relaxing in the private spa pool on the rooftop was a particular favorite.

I came mainly for the sand bath, but the inn turned out to be even more heartwarming than I expected. The owner, landlady and staff all had gentle expressions, and you could tell they were full of hospitality. The rooftop open-air bath was lovely as the sun slowly went down. The water quality was excellent, and I was very satisfied. Next time I’d like to bring my family and include meals.

I’d enjoyed staying here in summer, so I came back for a second visit on January 2nd. It wasn’t snowing when I arrived, but it started soon after and kept piling up. Having the private open-air bath while the snow fell was a treat. Dinner and breakfast were both excellent, with delicious food and generous portions. The Japanese-style room and futons were comfortable, though the TV was a bit small. I picked up the Yubara Onsen Hanzaki hoodie. I’d bought a summer T-shirt before, and I’ll definitely visit again.
