Hotel Alpha-One Matsue

There were plenty of amenities at the elevator entrance on the first floor. Breakfast is served in the izakaya area there, so you end up sharing the space with other guests. There are tables, and there's also a tatami area in front of them. Most people sit at the tables since they're closer to the dining area, which could leave the tatami space roomier, though it probably depends on how many people are staying that day. I'd heard the hotel had been renovated and was clean, but I still had an old-fashioned image of Alpha One. The room was just as clean as the reviews said, and the reception staff were very polite. I'd like to stay again. It's right in front of the station, parking is free, and you can book through other websites. I was surprised Alpha One even has a point card. At the last check-in screen, you can choose whether or not to have one issued.

We spent one night in a clean, spacious twin room and had a very pleasant stay. There was a large public bath, as well as a unit bath and shower in the room. Thank you.

Maruzen Suisan and the large public bath were both inside the hotel, which was a big plus. We stayed on Thursday, January 1, 2026, just as the first snow started falling.

The room was nice and clean. I couldn't use the electric kettle because there was something like mold on the bottom when I opened the lid. I wish they checked it every day. A large bus was parked at the entrance to the parking lot with its door open, making it hard for cars to get through. There was a guide nearby, but no one guided the cars. The lot isn't large, so they should have had the large buses park somewhere else.
