Everything was easy to get to, with restaurants and convenience stores close by. Matsumoto's bus and train stations are right across the street, about a minute away, which was especially handy for the direct bus to Kamikochi. Staff were lovely, and the hotel gives guests a free pass for the onsen and sauna at Shoho Hotel. A shuttle picks you up outside and brings you back. We had a great stay, 5/5 ⭐️. Highly recommend it.

The room is basic and a bit dated, but we weren't there for a staycation. There’s free coffee and tea on the ground floor, and Matsumoto Castle is about a 20-minute walk away. The real advantage is getting to Kamikochi: the hotel is just across from the bus terminal and close to JR Station, so for the limited bus leaving at 5:30am, I could head down at 5:15 and cross the street. Book that bus in advance.

Rooms were clean and breakfast was decent. In the evening, there’s a free shuttle to Shoho hotel for the onsen, and it brings you back afterward. The location is great too, about a two-minute walk from Matsumoto train station, with the bus terminal and Aplico Plaza mall just across the street. Lots of places to eat nearby, and many attractions are within walking distance. Highly recommend!

The friendly staff made check-in easy, and the kiosk was simple to use. Breakfast in the typical Japanese style was a nice extra. It’s only a few minutes on foot from the train station, so this is a good spot if you’re catching a train to somewhere near Matsumoto.

Clean and tidy, and it had everything I needed. A simple, nice hotel right beside Matsumoto Station, very convenient for a first-time traveller.
