There are plenty of nearby places for meals and shopping, and Matsumoto Station is within a 15-minute walk. The front desk may be able to suggest places too. Staff at reception were polite and helpful, making an effort to communicate despite the language barrier, and one spoke fluent Chinese. The breakfast staff were courteous and friendly, especially the omelette chef. Breakfast was decent for the price, and I recommend ordering from the omelette chef. For the price, the hotel is acceptable, though some areas could be better. The room was spacious, but the toilet was small; the bed was alright and the pillows too flat, though you can ask reception for extra pillows. The room showed some wear for its age, but was largely fine, and the lift lobbies and corridors were bright and well maintained. Restaurants and pastry and accessory shops are on the lower floors, with vending and ice machines on several floors. There’s no microwave or utensils, which makes heating food difficult.

The breakfast was fantastic and free, with local items, Japanese breakfast dishes, and Western options. Rooms were clean and had a small table and seating area. It’s an easy walk to Matsumoto station in under 10 minutes, and the hotel also has a shuttle bus. Great hotel!

We really liked the location, the station shuttle, and the generous buffet breakfast in the mornings. We arrived just before 2 pm and had buffet lunch at the restaurant, but had to hurry and fill our plates since it ended at 2. The food was good, though it was hot and late and we wish we’d had more time to enjoy it at a relaxed pace. We were given our room about 20 minutes before 3 pm.

We booked the executive twin room and felt the extra cost was worthwhile. The lounge was good, the room was comfortable, and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

The hotel itself is a bit tired, but the service really impressed me and the restaurant is great. The staff were willing to help with anything, and the free shuttle to their sister hotel, which has a superb onsen, is a nice touch.
