Pension Grindelwald

We came in winter, and it was convenient that they offered ski rentals and Mt. Norikura Kogen Ski Resort was within walking distance. We could put our skis on in the snowy area and ski down to the lift ticket office. The food was delicious, and even our child, who usually doesn't eat much salad, finished it all. The family bath was available and the hot springs warmed us right up. Our room had three single beds on wheels, so they were easy to move around. Still, the beds felt a bit cramped for our family of four, especially with our elementary school-aged child sleeping next to us.

We were really grateful for what they did with our poles. We'd accidentally returned our personal poles along with the rental skis, so we called and asked if they could send them cash on delivery. They happened to be in Matsumoto city and brought them to our home instead. They helped us out so much, and we've promised ourselves we'll stay here again on our next trip 😭 We spent three days and two nights with the family. The slopes are close, the food was delicious, and every room had floor heating, so we were never cold. Thank you so much!!!!!!

It's handy if you're taking the shuttle bus, since the guesthouse is close to the Norikura Tourist Center. The owner was very friendly, and we had a great chat. The meals came as a course and tasted great. There are two private baths, and the water was just the right temperature. I went in three times! I heard the bears around here are gentle, as long as you don't scare them. I'd like to come back next year.

The slopes are just a three-minute walk away, which was great. Dinner and breakfast were both delicious, and their dog, Mugi-chan, was adorable. I'd love to stay again!
