The ryokan is a little out of town, but it has a shuttle for guests. There’s also a family onsen you can book. My wife is vegetarian, and they were happy to adapt the menu for her, though it’s best to mention that when booking. Breakfast is buffet style, with Japanese and Western options. The staff made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Dinner featured a wide range of local dishes, presented with pride. It was a pleasure staying somewhere so welcoming and authentically Japanese.

Dinner was a real treat, with local delicacies prepared carefully, and every part of it was delicious. The baths were well maintained and gave us a peaceful place to unwind after a long day. The whole facility is beautifully kept, and the rooms are cozy and spacious. Staff were kind, helpful, and professional. The shuttle to and from the station was a welcome bonus.

The room was clean, and dinner was delicious. This 100-year-old ryokan gave us such warm, thoughtful service. Arigato!

There’s a tumulus and a temple directly across from the inn, which make nice places to walk. I came here so my friend could experience a ryokan during her time in Japan, and we both enjoyed the stay. The building is old style but well maintained, with ceramics, flowers, paintings, and other objects in its corners. There’s a shared fireplace and plenty of tea bowls. We had a fridge in our room, though there’s also a shared one, so I assume not every room has one. The room had good green tea and a slightly salty, gold-awarded yokan to enjoy with it, as well as tasteful yukatas and haoris. There was a hot water bag in the futon, and the toilet was separate from the bath. The service was respectful. After carefully introducing the facilities, they gave us space. The shuttle was helpful because the inn is quite far from the station, and they arranged an early departure so we could catch our train. It’s in a calm residential area, which suits the quiet I’d want from a ryokan. I booked because I was curious about the advertised handmade soba. The dinner course was generous and enjoyable, and different from the usual kaiseki. It included fresh wasabi and soba noodles, horse sashimi, good beef, local recipes, and seasonal ingredients. My friend found some of it a bit greasy and surprisingly sweet. I thought it was a rare experience overall. The meal was served in a private room, and the service was in Japanese, which we enjoyed. The inn describes its onsen water as the kind you want to dip into again after entering, and I can see why. We tried all three baths: the men’s and women’s baths, which switch twice a day, and the reservable family bath. The tubs are square and come in three sizes. I’ve seen more original designs, so they don’t get points for style, but they have what you need for an onsen. There’s a solid selection of products and amenities, plus safes and scales. You can also bathe in your room. We enjoyed the experience, the staff, and all the services. They deserve your attention. Thank you for having us!

The food was outstanding and deserves a Michelin star. The staff serving it were so caring and helpful, and it was clear they enjoy working here. The owner even helped us find a great saké wine. In this family-run hotel, we felt like part of the family from the moment the owner picked us up at the railway station. It was the most authentic evening of our Japan trip, and this place has a spot in our hearts. We’d definitely return on our next trip. Thank you to the whole team.
