Konishiya Ryokan

For what I paid, the traditional room and meals were more than I expected. The room was large, with tatamis, paintings, and paper doors, and the hot tub and shower were great. Dinner was luxurious, with matsusaka beef, ise-ebi sashimi, vegetable soup, miso soup, rice, and more beef. Breakfast was just as good, with ise-ebi miso soup, steamed mushrooms and beef, omelette, tofu, rice, and tea. The staff were very nice, although communicating was difficult since they don't really speak English. I seemed to be the only foreign guest, with most clients Japanese. I was traveling alone. A night was around ¥5000, a night with breakfast around ¥6000, and supper, night, and breakfast together around ¥16000. It was a great stay, and I'd recommend it to travelers looking for a traditional, fairly fancy night. The lobster was still alive, which kind of freaked me out.

The staff were kind and accommodating, and the inn has a lovely retro feel with a courtyard view from the room. Dinner was luxurious, with matsusaka beef shabu shabu, ise-ebi sashimi, and crab dishes. Breakfast included ise-ebi miso soup. Highly recommended!

The food was suuuuper delicious, and the woman who served breakfast was so kind. Staff were sweet enough to let us check in a bit before the scheduled time. The Wi-Fi only worked in the kitchen and didn't reach the rooms, which was my one issue, but we had data so it didn't bother us much.

The room was Japanese traditional style, with a shared bathroom. The beef was excellent, and the lobster miso soup at breakfast exceeded my expectations.
