I stayed nearly a week and loved how calm the town was. If you want a break from the big cities, this place is worth a visit. The hostel felt cozy, and I was at home there right away. Erika and Umi were welcoming, great hosts. I saw Umi making really good drinks at the Pub next door. Hope I can come back sometime!

We had a spacious, clean, comfortable quadruple room with a balcony and a fantastic view. The hostel is right by the temple, in a beautiful spot on the river. Downstairs, the common area was cozy, clean, and well equipped. The facilities were adequate and well looked after.

We really enjoyed our time at the Ichi Hostel. The rooms were quiet, the facilities were great, and everyone was sweet, kind, and laid back. When we were having trouble finding somewhere to stay, the hostess helped us out, and we’re very grateful. Recommended!

Erica and Umi are great owners, and they can answer lots of questions, which is really helpful. The hostel is small and cozy, with a homey feel I appreciate, and everything looks neat and clean. They have a pub on weekends too. I recommend the Shiso Gin, and I’ll definitely come back.

A cozy, relaxed place, and the owner pays attention to the details. I was on pilgrimage and pretty exhausted, so I didn’t spend much time in the common area, though it looked nice. There’s also a bar next door that I believe opens on weekends.
