Quiet, comfortable, and great value for money in a really special location. PUSH!

The hotel has changed owners and is now Hotel & Resort Tsubaki. Check-in takes place on the lobby sofas, and the welcome drink is draft beer, with unlimited shochu or soft drinks also available. The steamed food came with pumpkin, corn, and edamame appetizers. Most guests seemed to be drinking draft beer. My room was a slightly larger twin, with two free bottles of mineral water in the fridge, plus drip coffee and Japanese tea. The bed was comfortable, and there was a terrace on the third floor. Acerola water and lemon water were available too. A new sauna had been built, and the large public bath also had an open-air bath with hot, brown water. The washing area was small. The bath lockers and shoe lockers need a refundable 100 yen coin, but most guests didn't put one in, which was a hassle. Dinner was delicious and satisfying, with fresh sashimi and lovely tableware. At breakfast, grilled dried horse mackerel and fragrant seaweed were served, and the mixed grain rice with a raw egg really got my appetite going (lol). The shop had a limited selection. There were plenty of staff, though some seemed inexperienced, so I hope they do their best from here on.

On my latest day-use visit, I picked the fried horse mackerel lunch. This month's specials were Imari beef curry and fried horse mackerel, and since I'd just had the curry the day before, the fish won. It was fluffy inside with a light, crisp coating. Delicious, thanks for the meal! 🎵 I'd also visited before for lunch and a day-use hot spring after an overnight stay on an earlier trip. The seafood rice bowl and sashimi were both fresh, and the price felt reasonable for that quality. The stone sauna facilities are amazing, and if you're lucky, you might get the hot spring and sauna to yourself. Thanks again for the meal! 😆

The seafood bowl was delicious, with fresh fish, and I liked that coffee was self-service. The staff were polite, and even though my visit was brief, I had a pleasant time. The hot spring and seafood bowl lunch set was 200 yen cheaper, which felt like a small bargain. The bath was slightly cloudy salt water with three temperature options. The open-air bath was very warm, almost like Hinatami water, and you can easily spend 30 minutes soaking. There's no sauna, which might disappoint some people. I'd definitely like to visit Fukunoshima again.

The hot springs were excellent, and I came here to heal my wounds. The operator has changed, and day-use bathing now costs 1,100 yen from 11:00. The fried horse mackerel set meal is delicious, and there's a new auto-camping area with space for about 10 cars.
