You get room supplies at the front desk, and it's open for that 24 hours. The room itself was a good size and looked recently renovated, though the furniture was old and a bit worn. The hotel is about a hundred meters from Matsuyama Station. To switch on the light, you insert your room key into a separate slot on the wall panel.
A bit dated, and the rooms were just okay, though clean enough. Across the street there's an onsen bath you can use for a fee, reduced to 550¥. The location also makes it easy to get around Matsuyama city.
The staff were friendly, and breakfast was okay, very Japanese. Ehime has the best oranges, so try them, they’re really sweet! The hotel is old school in a way we enjoyed, right down to using a real key in the wall to turn on the electricity. It felt like starting a car engine 😁👍🏼 The room and beds were spacious, and while the room felt a little old, the bathroom was new. There was a fridge, kettle, tea, and lots of glasses. It’s near the train station.
The staff were really nice and helpful. The room was clean, though a bit old-fashioned, and the JR Station is nearby.
The main room light is operated by remote, not a switch on the wall or by the bed. I was on the second floor and could hear the tram and traffic, which got noisy. There are plenty of restaurants close by, including a delicious Indian restaurant across the street, and a convenience store next door. The hotel is right beside Matsuyama train station, within walking distance of Matsuyama Castle, and you can get to Dogo Onsen Hot-spring easily by tram. Staff were friendly.
