Mitsu Meets

The owner was the highlight of my two nights and three days here. He was so thoughtful and kind, the friendliest and most cheerful host I’ve met on my travels. The house gave me a unique experience, unlike the Japanese homes I’d seen on TV. Thanks to him, my first trip to Matsuyama left me with wonderful memories!

We stayed here as a family on the way to our destination and didn’t know much about the area, but the stay turned out great. The old Japanese house has been renovated, and you can hear quite a bit from other guests. It seemed to depend on who was staying, though everyone was reasonably quiet. Amenities were limited, but futons and the other facilities were provided, and we got directions to nearby places and parking. I’d stay here again. Just note that check-in is only until 6 pm!

The management was incredibly gentle and kind, with so much care in the little details. I was a little nervous since it was my first guesthouse stay, but they helped make it really comfortable. Thanks! I came on a weekday after the holidays and was lucky to be the only guest. It looked fully booked the next day, so this renovated former restaurant seems popular. I’d book early. After check-in, you get keys to both your room and the front door, so you can come and go as you like without a curfew. Pajamas and yukata, plus toothbrushes and other amenities, may not be provided, so bring your own. The bathroom has just one shower room for one person.

It has a modern exterior and tatami rooms inside, with a nice Japanese feel. The host is so kind, and I’d like to come back!
