Seapa Makoto

Parking was free and easy, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I don't speak Japanese, but they understood English and communicated well. Dinner delivered to the room was delicious and great value. The in-room onsen was wonderful too, a quiet private bath with the same hot spring quality as the public one.

I didn't stay overnight, just came for the onsen, and it was wonderful! After being disappointed by Dogo onsen yesterday, I say come to Hojo and visit Seapa onsen. It has hot, cold, jetted, and outdoor baths overlooking the ocean. I watched a beautiful sunset, and there's a sauna too. I loved it so much that the trip to town was worth it just for this visit!

The sunset from the onsen was fantastic, and the food was incredible. We had the best fried chicken and octopus of our island trip. The facility is old but still cozy, and the price is more than fair. Highly recommended.

It's a little out of the way from Matsuyama, but the trip is absolutely worth it. Every room has a private bath looking out over the ocean, and the public bath has an outdoor tub where you can hear the waves breaking on the shore. The small restaurant feels homey, with fantastic food at a very reasonable price. Everyone I spoke with was an absolute sweetheart, even with my less-than-perfect Japanese. The massage was extremely reasonably priced, and the masseuse was kind hearted with strong hands. She told me about rescuing one of the stray cats in the area and nursing him back to health. If you like cats or animals, you're likely to make a new friend a short walk from the hotel. There are some conbini within easy walking distance for a drink after the kitchen closes. At lunch, a couple of sweet older guys from Ooshima started chatting with me and bought me beer after beer. Shikoku is an underrated gem of Japan, and I'm absolutely smitten.
