Terminal Hotel Matsuyama

The hotel is handy for getting around Matsuyama, though it looks a little dated. The rooms were okay and clean enough. Across the street, you can use the onsen baths for a reduced fee of 550¥.

The staff were friendly, and breakfast was fine, very Japanese. The oranges from Ehime were especially sweet. We liked the old-school feel, including having to use a real key in the wall to switch on the electricity. It felt like starting a car engine 😁👍🏼. Our room was a bit old, but we enjoyed it. It was spacious, with big beds, a new bathroom, a fridge, kettle, tea, and plenty of glasses. It's a nice old hotel near the train station.

The staff were really nice and helpful. The room felt old-fashioned but was clean, and the hotel is well located near the JR Station.

Being right by Matsuyama train station makes it easy to get around, and Matsuyama Castle is within walking distance. The tram also gives easy access to Dogo Onsen Hot-spring. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, including a delicious Indian place across the street, and a convenience store next door. The staff were friendly. I was on the second floor, where the tram and car noise was noticeable. Also, the main room light is operated by remote control, not a switch on the wall or by the bed.
