I've stayed here twice, and both times were great. The master was very kind. Just keep in mind that towels cost a small extra charge, the toilets are shared, and there's no bathroom in the rooms. The only bathing option is the basement onsen and the showers inside it. The onsen felt a little too hot even in midwinter. Other customers said the same, so it wasn't just me. Hopefully they can adjust the temperature a little. Thankyou! :D
The innkeeper was awesome, and the river view is scenic. There's also a beer vending machine.

The 24hr Sento is really convenient after a day of hiking. The Tatami rooms have a gorgeous view, which adds to the comfort. The place feels family run, with a very nice Ojisan at the front desk. Service may not be the fastest, but the staff are so endearing that it fits the relaxing feel of the hotel and city.
The host is very friendly and played piano for us. Rooms are clean and cosy, with a great view of the river. Sleeping with the window open and hearing the river was really relaxing. The onsen is basic, but nice and soothing.
