Our two-year-old had a wonderful time playing with the dogs, and we loved the locally grown food in the beautifully prepared Western-style dinner. The hotel is clean and lovely, tucked into the mountains, with golden retrievers for guests to spend time with. We also enjoyed the relaxing private outdoor hot spring bath, which was easy to reserve. We’ll definitely make this a regular place to stay when we visit Minakami.

You’re greeted right away by four beautiful, calm and friendly Goldys, which is a treat if you love dogs. The food was so delicious, and we enjoyed both dinner and breakfast. We stayed two nights and had a lovely, memorable time. A car would be helpful for getting to the accommodation. We’ll definitely come back next time we’re in Japan or Gunma.

We’re a family of five with grown-up and teenage kids, and we prefer outdoor activities to luxurious hotels. This was just right for a weekend stay of two nights. Our family room was clean and cozy, the Western-style dinner and breakfast were very well prepared, and they even have a VEGAN option. We really enjoyed the outdoor Onsen, and the young owner couple were attentive and kind. Spending time with their four golden retrievers was another highlight. We hired a local guide for a snow walk and had a dream time in the fresh snow. The place is well maintained through the owners’ efforts and guests doing their part. They explain the small rules on their website, including meal times, the bath-sharing system, and how to play with the dogs. I really hope it stays this way with respectful customers!

The room was cozy, clean, and spacious, and the dogs were adorable, clean, and polite. It’s a lovely place with mountain and cottage vibes. Dinner and breakfast were very good, and the Onsen is another strong point. I can’t wait to come back in winter to enjoy the Onsen with snow and play with the cute dogs.
