Awaji Island Marine View

I had a thoroughly enjoyable stay and would definitely come back. The house isn’t especially large for a whole-home rental, but the clever storage and layout give it a lovely, tasteful feel. There was a full set of cooking utensils, which made it easy to settle in. One small improvement would be to make the step down to the BBQ area less steep, and maybe provide Crocs for going outside. Even though I live on Awaji Island, this stay felt like a little break away with my usual friends. The sea-facing guesthouse was elegant, and the room’s appliances and furnishings were stylish and easy to use. The meal was a real treat: boiled conger eel and conger eel hot pot, with somen noodles planned for the final course, which sounded wonderful. We didn’t use the terrace BBQ grill, but sitting there and looking out at the sea during a BBQ would be amazing. Thanks for the lovely space and food.

From the second floor, the view over Fukura Port was great. The place had three bedrooms with two beds in each, so it can sleep up to six; I think the beds were Simmons. I stayed at Marine View, a different series from Seaside, with my dog. He usually isn’t comfortable around other dogs or people, but seemed relaxed here, and so did we. We bought ingredients on Awaji Island and had fun cooking as if at home with the variety of utensils provided. A few more dishes would have been useful.

The room was clean and comfortable, and I appreciated how attentive the staff were. It sits on a moderate hill, though the nearby area feels a bit residential. The bathroom was quite ordinary, and I would have liked a jacuzzi or semi-open-air bath outside. It was also a little cold, so underfloor heating would have been nice. I wish there had been a toilet upstairs too.
