We didn’t get to stay long enough, and felt like family while we were there. The lodges are clean, roomy, and cozy, with beautiful surroundings. Fiore Shima is great, especially because of the staff. They were among the friendliest people we met in Japan. We’d definitely return if we visit this area again.

A good option for a family stay. The kids especially liked the swimming pool, and there’s a big dog run with separate areas for small and large dogs. Dogs are allowed in some bungalows and can also come to the pool area. The restaurant has a limited selection, but there are good bites for the whole family. Balloon rental is available, though the prices aren’t friendly. The hotel itself seems quite old. Staff try to keep it clean, but the terrace still looks worn from age.

My wife, our two sons, and I stayed for three days. It was easy to communicate with the receptionist in English, and we enjoyed a wonderful night with fireworks. I regret that we didn’t try the BBQ. The facilities were good.

Finding the place is a challenge. If you manage it, I’ll buy your next drink. The cafe and restaurant are part of a cabin-resort-style setup, a pleasant place to relax, with friendly local staff doing a nice job. You wouldn’t guess it’s run by a corporation. The drinks were delicious, coffee included, and gave us a nice lift during our drive from the beach. Enjoy!

A small, lovely restaurant with warm, great service. The fresh pasta was excellent and keenly priced, and the house wine was just right.
