Granp Glamping Resort

We came in August because my wife wanted to barbecue, and the dinner ended up being fantastic. The ingredients were thoughtfully chosen and delicious, with the mega marshmallow as my favorite. The Matsusaka beef was great too. There was so much food that even the two of us in our 50s could barely finish it, though we still found room for ice cream. Breakfast was a tasty Japanese meal, and I was glad coffee was available. The staff were all kind, the facilities were well designed, and I appreciated being able to ask for help lighting the fire and cleaning up. The grill and glamping-style setup were so easy to use I wanted one myself, lol. Just keep in mind there’s no elevator. One staff member carried our luggage at check-in. Finding the place was a little tricky, so a navigation system is essential. Some roads are narrow and visibility is poor. Thanks very much, we’d like to come back in another season.

The rooms were very clean, and the outdoor BBQ was great. You’re allowed to bring your own food and drinks, so it’s a good idea to pick things up at a nearby supermarket before you arrive.

For people who don’t do much outdoors and want to try a grill or a bit of camping with the family, this place could work. But I enjoy camping, and the glamping label had me expecting more. It came across more like a nice apartment turned into a hotel. The window and its view were especially disappointing, with the balcony feeling very apartment-like. The barbecue dinner ingredients and breakfast left me with the same impression. I hope they can improve things. For someone already into camping and the outdoors, the stay may feel underwhelming.

The barbecue was easy to enjoy since they set up everything, from the fire and tent to the ingredients, and the staff were kind and attentive. The room was spacious and clean, and for a last-minute Golden Week booking that we stumbled across, it turned out to be a great find. There’s no elevator, so taking the stairs up to the 4th floor was quite a workout. The meat portion felt a little small; it’s worth buying extra at the supermarket, and MaxValu's Gyusei is recommended. The route to the hotel is complicated, so use navigation. I’d stay again. If you’re young enough for glamping, you should be fine with the stairs, and for us it was a great place with no drawbacks!
