A ridiculously cheap getaway if you can make it here. The rooms have a retro Japanese style, and the evening buffet is all you can eat, with unlimited drinks including booze. Breakfast is included too, and there's a free onsen, plus ping pong and karaoke. Highly recommended.

There were only a couple of hotels left in Tateyama, and this one belongs to the Itoen Group. There were plenty of guests. It's fairly close to the sea, which is great for a morning walk.

The price is what drew me in. The meals were filling, though the quality matched what I paid for. The all-you-can-drink beer was tasty, the room was clean, and the open-air bath felt cool and refreshing. I enjoyed sightseeing too. June 2026.
