Guesthouse Hamachaya

A great budget hotel, with Rock Burger right there if you want a hamburger. You can choose Japanese-style rooms with futons or Western rooms with beds, and most, if not all, have balconies overlooking Ise Bay. The staff were friendly and attentive. Breakfast is included, and you can add dinner or a barbecue if you give a day’s notice. The beach is just steps away, and it’s a short walk to the central stretch, where there are more little bars and food stalls. Take time to visit the shrines and temples on the road just behind the hotel, checking Google Maps for their locations. They’re well worth seeing. I’ve lived in Japan for close to twenty years, and their authenticity and old-time feel still impressed me.

A lovely place to stay with pets. The people were very friendly and helpful, and gave the pets great care.

We brought our two dogs and were happy with every part of the stay. The price was reasonable, and breakfast was excellent. We’ll definitely come back.

There’s a sandy beach right nearby, and the sea view was lovely with freight trains and airplanes passing through it too. We had a spacious bathtub, and because it was a weekday with few guests, they were able to arrange a family bath, which was very convenient. With our pet along, we didn’t have to worry about dinner out, so we went to Moss, less than a five-minute drive away. We were three adults and one pet, staying at this pet-friendly inn while attending the Shinten Festival at Mihama Circuit. We were very comfortable, and we’ll definitely return on our next trip.
